¹ The Lord said to Moses:

² “Command the Israelites and say to them: When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allocated to you as an inheritance will have these borders:

³ “The southern side will begin in the wilderness of Zin, along the border of Edom. In the east, its southern border will begin at the edge of the Salt Sea,

⁴ It will pass south of the ascent of Ahrabin, continue on to Zim, and go south of Kadesh-Barnea. Then it will pass through Hazar-Adar and go to Azmon,

⁵ where it will turn around, joining the river of Egypt to end at the Sea.

⁶ Your western border will be the coast of the Great Sea. This will be the western border.

⁷ This will be the northern border: draw a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor,

⁸ and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath. The border limit will be Zedade,

⁹ it will continue to Zifrom and end in Hazar-Enã. This will be your northern border.

¹⁰ This will be the eastern border: make a line from Hazar-Enan to Shephan.

¹¹ The border will go down from Shephan to Riblah on the eastern side of Aim, and will run along the slopes east of the Sea of Chinereth.

¹² The border will run down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. This will be your land, with its borders on all sides.”

¹³ Moses commanded the Israelites: “Distribute the land by lot as an inheritance. The Lord has ordered it to be given to the nine and a half tribes,

¹⁴ because the families of the tribe of Reuben, from the tribe of Gad and half of the tribe of Manasseh have already received their inheritance.

¹⁵ These two and a half tribes received their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan, on the other side of Jericho, in the direction of the sunrise.”

¹⁶ The Lord said to Moses:

¹⁷ “These are the names of the men who are to distribute the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.

¹⁸ Designate a leader from each tribe to help distribute the land.

¹⁹ These are their names: “Caleb, son of Jephunneh, of the tribe of Judah;

²⁰ Samuel, son of Ammihud, of the tribe of Simeon;

²¹ Elidah, son of Kislon, of the tribe of Benjamin;

²² Buki, son of Jogli, the leader of the tribe of Dan;

²³ Haniel, son of Ephod, the leader of the tribe of Manasseh, son of Joseph;

²⁴ Kemuel, son of Shiphtan, the leader of the tribe of Ephraim, son of Joseph;

²⁵ Elizaphan, son of Parnach, the leader of the tribe of Zebulun;

²⁶ Paltiel, son of Azan, the leader of the tribe of Issachar;

²⁷ Ahihud, the son of Selomi, the leader of the tribe of Asher;

²⁸ Pedael, son of Ammihud, the leader of the tribe of Naphtali.”

²⁹ These were the men whom the Lord commanded to distribute the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
