Numbers 36 – Verses from Numbers 36 from the book of Bible numbers.
1 The heads of the families of the clan of Gilead, son of Machir, grandson of Manasseh, who belonged to the clans of Joseph's descendants, went to talk to Moses and the leaders, the heads of the Israelite families.

2 And they said, “When the Lord commanded my lord to give the land as an inheritance to the Israelites by lot, he commanded you to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.
3 Now, suppose they marry men from other Israelite tribes; in that case their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of our ancestors and added to the inheritance of the tribe with which they are united by marriage.
4 When the Year of Jubilee comes for the Israelites, their inheritance will be added to that of the tribe with which they are united by marriage, and their property will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our ancestors.”
5 Then, instructed by Senhor, Moses gave this order to the Israelites: “The tribe of Joseph’s descendants is right.

6 This is what the Lord commands regarding the daughters of Zelophehad: They maymarry whoever pleases them, as long as they marry within the clan of their father's tribe.
7 No inheritance in Israel can pass from one tribe to another, as all Israelites will maintain the lands of the tribes that they inherited from their ancestors.
8 Every daughter who inherits land in any Israelite tribe will marry into the clan of her father's tribe, so that each Israelite will possess the inheritance of her ancestors.
9 No inheritance can pass from one tribe to another, as each Israelite tribe must maintain the lands it inherited.”
10 The daughters of Zelophehad did as the Lord commanded Moses.
11 Zelophehad's daughters, Mahalah, Tirzah, Hogla, Milcah and Noah, married their paternal cousins,
12 within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh, son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the clan and tribe of their father.
13 These are the commandments and ordinances that the Lord gave to the Israelites through Moses in thepinas of Moab, next to the Jordan, on the other sidethat of Jericho.
