“And the time for Elizabeth to give birth was completed, and she had a son.
And her neighbors and relatives heard that God had shown her great mercy, and they rejoiced over her.

And it came to pass on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zechariah, after the name of his father. But his mother answered and said, No, but he shall be called John.

And they said to him, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.”.
And they asked their father by nods what he wanted to be called.
And he asked for a writing tablet and wrote, saying, 'His name is John.' And they were all amazed.

And immediately his mouth was opened, and his tongue was loosed, and he spoke, praising God.
And fear came upon all their neighbors, and throughout all the mountains of Judea all these things were reported.

And all who heard them kept them in their hearts, saying, Who then is this child? And the hand of the Lord was with him“.
