“The next day, the crowd that was on the other side of the lake saw that there was only one boat there, except the one in which the disciples had entered,

And that Jesus had not entered that small boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone alone (However, other small boats had arrived from Tiberias, near the place where they ate the bread, after the Lord had given thanks).

So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor were his disciples, they also got into boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.

And when they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves.”.

Work not for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; because the Father, God, has sealed this one.

They said to him, “What must we do to perform the works of God?”
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”.

They said to him, “What sign then will you give us, that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?”

Our fathers ate manna in the wilderness, as it is written: He gave them the bread from heaven to eat.

Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not the bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

Because the bread of God is the one that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.
So they said to him, Lord, always give us this bread.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.”.

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

And the will of the Father who sent me is this: That none of all that he has given me should perish, but that he be raised up on the last day.

For this is the will of him who sent me: That everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day“.
