And when they came, they said unto him, Master, we know that thou art a man of truth, and that thou care not of any man, because thou considerest not the appearance of men, but teachest the way of God in truth; Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? Will we give, or will we not give?

Then he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them: Why do you tempt me? Bring me a coin, so I can see it.

And they brought it to him. And he said unto them, Whose image and inscription is this? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's. And they marveled at him.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
