If he, answering from within, says: Do not trouble me; The door is already closed, and my children are in bed with me; I can't get up to give it to you;

I tell you that, even if he does not rise up and give them to you, because he is your friend, he will nevertheless rise up, because of your importunity, and will give you whatever he needs.

And I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you; For whoever asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks it will be opened.

And which father among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or, also, if he asks him for a fish, will he give him a serpent for a fish?

Or, also, if he asks you for an egg, will you give him a scorpion?

For if you, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
