What is this telling us? A little while, and you will not see me; and again a little, and you will see me; and: Why do I go to the Father? So they said: What does this mean: A little? We don't know what it says.

Jesus therefore knew that they wanted to question him, and he said to them: Do you inquire among yourselves about this thing that I said: A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me?

Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, and the world will rejoice, and you will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy.

A woman, when she is about to give birth, feels sadness, because her time has come; but, after having given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the affliction, for the pleasure of having been born a man into the world.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
