 That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, with Birsha king of Gomorrah, with Shinab king of Admah, and with Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and with the king of Bela (this is Zoar).

 All these came together in the valley of Siddim (which is the Salt Sea).

 They had served Chedorlaomer for twelve years, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth-Carnaim, and the Zuzim in Han, and the Emim in Shave-kiriathaim;

 Then they returned and came to En-Mishpath (which is Kadesh), and struck down all the land of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, who lived in Hazazom-Tamar.

 Then came out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (this is Zoar), and ordered battle against them in the valley of Siddim,

 Against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Elasar; four kings against five.

 And the valley of Siddim was full of pits of bitumen; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and the rest fled into a mountain.

 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went their way.

 They also took Lot, who lived in Sodom, the son of Abram's brother, and his possessions, and went away.

 Then one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew; he dwelt by the oak groves of Mamre the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol, and the brother of Aner; they were Abram's confederates.

 So when Abram heard that his brother was in prison, he armed his servants, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them as far as Dan.

 And he divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

 And he brought back all his possessions, and brought back also Lot his brother, and his possessions, and also the women, and the people.

 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him (after he returned from striking Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him) as far as the Valley of Shaveh, which is the king's valley.

 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought bread and wine; and this was a priest of the Most High God.

 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the Most High God, the Possessor of heaven and earth;

 And blessed be the Most High God, who has delivered your enemies into your hands. And Abram gave him a tithe of everything.

 And the king of Sodom said to Abram: Give me the people, and take the goods for yourself.

 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand to the Lord, the Most High God, the Possessor of heaven and earth,

 Swearing that from a thread to a shoe strap, I will not take anything from everything that is yours; lest thou say, I have made Abram rich;

 Except only what the young men ate, and the part that concerns the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol and Mamre; let them take their part.
