Then the Lord said to Moses:

“I chose Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah,

and I filled them with the Spirit of God, giving them dexterity, skill and full artistic capacity

to design and execute works in gold, silver and bronze,

for carving and sculpting stones, for carving wood and carrying out all types of artisanal work.

Furthermore, I appointed Oholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. I also trained all the artisans to carry out everything I ordered:

The tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant and the cover that is on it, and all the other utensils of the tent —

the table and its utensils, the pure gold lampstand and its utensils, the altar of incense,

the altar of burnt offering with its utensils, the basin with its base —

as well as the liturgical vestments, both the sacred vestments for Aaron the priest and the vestments for his sons when they serve as priests,

as well as the oil for the anointings and the aromatic incense for the Holy Place. Everything must be done exactly as I ordered you.”

 The Lord said to Moses:

“Tell the Israelites to keep my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you, generation after generation, so that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you.

“Keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it will have to be executed; Whoever does any work on that day will be cut off from among his people.

In six days any work can be done, but the seventh day is the Sabbath, the day of rest, consecrated to the Lord. Anyone who does any work on Saturday will have to be executed.

The Israelites will have to keep the Sabbath, they and their descendants, as a perpetual covenant.

This will be an everlasting sign between me and the Israelites, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he did not work and rested.”

When the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.
