“Do not follow the majority to do evil. When testifying in a trial, do not pervert justice to support the majority,

nor to favor the poor in a process.

“If you find your enemy's ox or donkey lost, take it back to him.

If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying under the weight of its load, don't abandon it, try to help it.

“Do not pervert the rights of the poor in your processes.

Do not engage in false accusations or condemn the innocent and righteous to death, for I will not absolve the guilty.

“Do not accept bribes, for bribes blind even those who have discernment and harm the cause of the righteous.

“Do not oppress the foreigner. You know what it is like to be a foreigner, because you were foreigners in Egypt.

“Plant and harvest in your land for six years,

but in the seventh let it rest without cultivating it. This way the poor people will be able to eat what grows for themselves, and what is left will be given to the animals in the field. Do the same with your vineyards and olive groves.

“In six days do your work, but in the seventh do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and your slave and the foreigner may renew their strength.

“Be careful to do everything I have ordered you. Do not invoke the name of other gods; let such names not be heard from their lips. “

“Three times a year you will celebrate me as a feast.

“Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time of the month of Abib, for in that month you left Egypt. “No one will come to me empty-handed.

“Celebrate the festival of harvesting the first fruits of your sowing work. “Celebrate the festival of the closing of the harvest, when, at the end of the year, you store the harvests.

“Three times a year all men must appear before the sovereign Lord.

“Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice made in my honor with leavened bread. “The fat from my feast offerings must not be kept until the morning.

“Bring to the sanctuary of the Lord your God the best of the first fruits of your harvest. “Do not cook the goat in its own mother’s milk.

“Behold, I am sending an angel ahead of you to protect you all the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.

Pay attention and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him, for he will not forgive your transgressions, for my name is in him.

If you listen carefully to what he says and do everything I command you, I will be the enemy of your enemies and the adversary of your adversaries.

My angel will go before you and bring you to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, and I will exterminate them.

Do not bow down to their gods, nor worship them, nor follow their practices. Destroy them utterly and break their sacred pillars.

Worship the Lord, your God, and he will bless you by giving you food and water. I will take away the disease from among you.

In your land no pregnant woman will lose her child, nor will there be a barren woman. I will make the duration of your life complete.

“I will send my terror before you, which will throw all the nations you meet into confusion. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and flee.

I will cause panic among the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites to drive them out before you.

I will not drive you out in a single year, for the land will become desolate and the wild animals will multiply, threatening you.

I will drive you out little by little until you are numerous enough to take possession of the land.

“I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River. I will give into your hands the peoples who live in the land, whom you will drive out before you.

Do not make an alliance with them or their gods.

Do not let these people live in your land, otherwise they will lead you to sin against me, because worshiping their gods will be a trap for you. “
