“Now when Jesus saw the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted; Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth;

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God;
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God;

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you..

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
