But he said to him, “A certain man made a great supper and invited many. And at supper time he sent his servant to say to those who were invited,

Come, everything is ready.
And they all began with one accord to make excuses. The first said unto him, I have bought a field, and I must go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

And the servant returned, and told his lord these things. Then the householder, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind.

And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou commandedst; and yet there is room.
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper.“.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
