And occasionally a certain priest went down the same path; and when he saw him, he passed by. And in the same way a Levite also came to that place, and when he saw him, he passed by.

But a Samaritan, who was traveling, came to him and, seeing him, was moved with deep compassion;

And he came near and bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine upon them; and, putting him on his animal, he took him to an inn, and took care of him;

And when he departed the next day, he took out two pieces of money, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever extra you spend, I will pay you back when I return.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
