Gospel of the Day – John 21:20-25

“Then Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who had also leaned on his breast at supper and said, ‘Lord, who is it that will betray you?’

When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?”
Jesus said to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me.”

Therefore this saying went abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die. But Jesus said not unto him, He should not die: but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

This is the disciple who testifies to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

But there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if every one of them were written, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen..

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
