And he answered, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. And he said unto him, Feed my lambs.

He said to him again the second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him,

Feed my sheep. He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?” Simon was grieved because he said to him the third time,

Do you love me? And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.”

Truly, truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked wherever you wanted; But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will gird you and carry you where you do not want to go.

And he said this, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when he had said this, he said to him, Follow me.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
