“After this Jesus appeared again to his disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. It was like this:

There were together Simon Peter; Thomas called Didymus; Nathanael from Cana in Galilee; the sons of Zebedee; and two other disciples.
“I’m going fishing,” Simon Peter told them.

And they said, “We will go with you.” So they went and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. When day came, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not recognize him.

He asked them, “Children, do you have anything to eat?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”

They cast the net, but were unable to haul in the fish, so many were there. The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter,

“It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard him say this, he put on his outer garment (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the sea. The other disciples followed in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were only about a hundred yards from shore.

When they landed, they saw a fire there, fish on coals, and some bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.”

Simon Peter got into the boat and dragged the net to shore. It was full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three. Even though there were so many fish, the net did not break.

Jesus said to them, “Come and have dinner.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord.

Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. This was the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he rose from the dead.“.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
