Gospel of the Day – John 14:7-14

“If you knew me, you would also know my Father; and from now on you know him and have seen him.

Adverts

Philip said to him: Lord, show us the Father, what is enough for us.
Jesus said to him:

I have been with you so long, and you have not known me, Philip? Whoever sees me sees the Father; and how sayest thou: Show us the Father?

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?

The words that I speak to you I do not speak of myself, but the Father, who is in me, is the one who does the works.

Adverts

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; believe me, at least, because of the same works.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do, and will do greater works than these, because I go to my Father.

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

John 14:7-14

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
