“And the Jews then picked up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them:

I have shown you many good works from my Father; For which of these works do you stone me?
The Jews answered and said unto him, We stone thee not for any good work, but for blasphemy; because, being a man, you make yourself God.
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law: I said, Ye are gods?
For if the law called gods to those to whom the word of God was addressed, and the Scripture cannot be broken,

Blasphemous, because I said: I am the Son of God? If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me.
But if I do them, and you do not believe me, believe in the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in him.
So they tried to arrest him again, but he escaped from their hands, And he withdrew again beyond the Jordan, to the place where John had first baptized; and there it stayed.
And many came to him, and said, John indeed did no sign, but all that John said of him was true.
And many there believed in him“.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day
As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
