Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out demons? and in your name done many wonderful works?’

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it did not fall: for it was founded upon the rock.

And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand;

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall thereof.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, the multitudes were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes..

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
