“For this is also like a man going into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each according to his ability; and straightway he went far away.
And he that had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.
Likewise also he that had received two gained two more: but he that had received one went and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
And after a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

Then he who had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five talents more along with them.’
And his lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
And he also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained beside them two talents more.
His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things; enter into the joy of your lord.”
But he also which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter:
And I was afraid, and hid your talent in the earth; here is what is yours.
But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant! knewest thou that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not scattered seed?
You should have put my money to the bankers, and when I came I would have received my money back with interest. Take therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents.
For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.
Therefore throw the unprofitable servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.“.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day
As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
