And he said to her, What wilt thou? She answered, Say that these two sons of mine may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom.

But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I shall drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

And he said to them, “You will indeed drink my cup and be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized. But to sit on my right or on my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.

It shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister: and whosoever will be first among you, let him be your servant:

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
