But he answered and said unto them, When the evening cometh, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

And in the morning: Today there will be a storm, because the sky is a gloomy red. You hypocrites, do you know how to discern the face of heaven, and do you not know the signs of the times?

An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, and no sign will be given to them except the sign of the prophet Jonah. And leaving them, he withdrew.

And when his disciples passed to the other side, they had forgotten to bring bread. And Jesus said unto them, Warn, and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we brought no bread.
And Jesus, perceiving this, said: Why do ye reason among yourselves, O men of little faith, that ye have brought no bread?

Do you not yet understand, nor remember the five loaves for five thousand men, and how many baskets you set up?

Nor of the seven loaves for four thousand, and how many baskets did you take up? How did you not understand that I did not tell you about bread, but that you were to keep yourselves from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?

Then they understood that he had not told them to keep themselves from the leaven of bread, but from the doctrine of the Pharisees..

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
