Having dismissed the crowd, he went up on a mountain alone to pray. At dusk he was there alone,

but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves, because the wind was blowing against it. Early in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.

When they saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said: “It's a ghost! ” And they screamed in fear.

But Jesus immediately said to them, “Take courage! It is me. Do not be afraid! ”
“Lord”, said Peter, “if it is you, send me to meet you on the water”.

“Come,” he replied. Then Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water and went towards Jesus.

But when he noticed the wind, he became afraid and, beginning to sink, he cried out: “Lord, save me! “

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. And he said, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt? “

When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. Then those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God“.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
