Gospel of the Day – Matthew 13:36-43

“Then he left the crowd and went home. His disciples came to him and said: “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”
He replied: “He who sowed the good seed is the Son of man.
The field is the world, and the good seed are the children of the Kingdom. The tares are the children of the Evil One,
and the enemy who sows it is the devil. The harvest is the end of this age, and those in charge of the harvest are angels.
“Just as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his kingdom everything that causes people to stumble and everyone who does evil.
They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.”

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
