“In those days, when there was a great crowd and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said to them,

Adverts

I have compassion for the crowd, because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat.

And if I let them go home hungry, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come from far away.

And his disciples answered him, Whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?

And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said unto him, Seven.
And he ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground.

And he took the seven loaves, and when he had given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to set before them: and they set them before the multitude.

They also had some small fish; and when he had given thanks, he ordered that some be set before him.

And they ate and were satisfied; and they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that remained.

And those who had eaten were about four thousand; and he sent them away.
And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came to the coasts of Dalmanutha.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
