“Jesus left there and went to his own city, accompanied by his disciples.

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.

“Where did this man get these things from?” they asked. “What wisdom is this that has been given to him? And these miracles that he performs?

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? Are not his sisters here with us? ” And they were offended because of him.

Jesus said to them, “A prophet is without honor only in his own country, among his own relatives and in his own house.”

And he could do no miracles there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them.

And he marveled at their unbelief. Then Jesus went through the villages, teaching.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
