“And he went out again into the sea, and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.

And as he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs house, and he said to him: Follow me. And getting up, he followed him.

And it came to pass, as he sat at the table in this man's house, that there were also many publicans and sinners sitting at the table with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and they had followed him.

And the scribes and Pharisees, when they saw him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, said to his disciples, Why does he eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?

And when Jesus heard this, he said unto them, They that are well have no need of a physician, but they that are sick do; I did not come to call the righteous, but rather sinners to repentance.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
