As he prayed, the appearance of his face was transformed and his clothes became as white and bright as the flash of lightning. Two men appeared and began talking to Jesus. They were Moses and Elijah.
They appeared in glorious splendour and spoke about Jesus' departure, which was about to be fulfilled in Jerusalem.
Peter and his companions were overcome with sleep; suddenly waking up, they saw the glory of Jesus and the two men who were with him.
As they were leaving, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it's good that we're here. Let's make three tents: one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. (He didn't know what he was saying.)
While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and they were frightened as they entered the cloud.
A voice came out of her, saying, "This is my Son, the Chosen One; listen to him! "

When the voice was heard, Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves; in those days they told no-one about what they had seen.

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
