Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” He said to them,

“Strive to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.

When the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside and knock and say, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ But he will reply,

'I don't know you, nor do I know where you are from'.
“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’

“But he will reply, ‘I do not know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers! ’

“There will be weeping there and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

People will come from east and west, north and south, and will take their places at the table in the Kingdom of God.

Indeed, there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last..

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
