Gospel of the Day – Luke 12:22-30

“And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, nor for your body, what ye shall put on.

Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

Consider the ravens, which neither sow nor reap, nor have storeroom nor barn, and God feeds them; How much more are you worth than the birds?

And which of you, being diligent, can add one cubit to his stature? For if you cannot yet do the least things, why are you anxious about the others?

Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither work nor spin; and I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Adverts

And if God so clothes the grass that is in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more so for you, men of little faith?

Do not ask therefore what you will eat or what you will drink, and do not be restless.

For the nations of the world seek after all these things; but your Father knows that you need them.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
