“Invited by one of the Pharisees to dinner, Jesus went to his house and reclined at the table.

Upon learning that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, a certain woman from that city, a 'sinner', brought an alabaster jar of perfume,
and placed himself behind Jesus, at his feet. Crying, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then he wiped them with his hair, kissed them and anointed them with perfume.
Upon seeing this, the Pharisee who had invited him said to himself: “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is: a 'sinner'”.
Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” “Tell me, Master,” he said.

“Two men owed a certain creditor. One owed him five hundred denarii and the other fifty.
Neither of them had anything to pay him, so he forgave the debt to both of them. Which one will love you more? “
Simon replied: “I suppose the one from whom the debt was forgiven is the greater.” “You judged well,” said Jesus.
Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, “See this woman? I entered your house, but you did not give me water to wash my feet; But she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
You didn't greet me with a kiss, but this woman, since I came here, hasn't stopped kissing my feet.
You did not anoint my head with oil, but she poured perfume on my feet.
Therefore, I tell you, her many sins were forgiven, for which she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”
Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
The other guests began to ask, “Who is this who even forgives sins? “
Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace“.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day
As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through believing in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10;17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
