\u201cJesus said to his disciples: \u201cThe manager of a rich man was accused of wasting his possessions.
\nThen he called him and asked him:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018'What is this I'm hearing about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot continue being the manager.'.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe manager said to himself, 'My master is firing me. What shall I do? I'm not strong enough to dig, and I'm ashamed to beg...'<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I already know what I'm going to do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their homes.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThen he called in each one of his master\u2019s debtors. He asked the first one, \u2018How much do you owe my master?\u2019
\n\u2018'A hundred jars of olive oil,' he replied. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe manager told him, 'Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty.' Then he asked the second one:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018'And you, how much do you owe?' 'A hundred barrels of wheat,' he replied. 'He told him, 'Take your bill and write eighty.'.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201c"The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than the sons of light."<\/span><\/strong>\u201c<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day<\/h2>\n

As Christians, we place a high value on God\u2019s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.<\/p>\n

Kingdom Intelligence: When Jesus praises shrewdness to awaken us.<\/h2>\n

There are passages in the Gospel that we read and, as a first reaction, we think: "What does that mean?". This Gospel of the Day is exactly like that. Jesus tells a parable about a dishonest manager who makes maneuvers to secure his own future... and, somehow, ends up being praised for his cleverness. It's a text that makes many people uncomfortable because it seems that Jesus is approving of wrong behavior.<\/p>\n

But that's not it. What Jesus does here is much deeper: He uses a provocative, almost scandalous story to give us a shock of reality. He takes an example that no one would expect and says: \u201cLook how this man reacts when he realizes he is going to lose everything. And you\u2026 when it comes to eternal life, the Kingdom of God, your soul\u2026 do you react with the same urgency?\u201d<\/p>\n

This passage isn't about sanctifying corruption. It's about awakening a complacent heart. Jesus doesn't praise injustice; He praises... practical intelligence<\/strong>, ...the ability to act quickly and strategically when life gets tough. And the question that remains is straightforward: Why are we so creative with worldly things, but so passive when it comes to the things of God?<\/strong><\/p>\n

1) The starting point: a man who is about to fall<\/h3>\n

The main character is an administrator. He takes care of assets that don't belong to him. But news reaches his boss that he's wasting money, mismanaging things, perhaps stealing, perhaps being irresponsible. And the boss decides to fire him.<\/p>\n

This is already a portrait of something very human: life has moments when reality arrives like a "dismissal notice." It could be a crisis, a shock, a diagnosis, a loss, a mistake that comes to light, an inevitable consequence. Suddenly, you realize: "If I continue the way I am, I'm going to fall."\u201c<\/p>\n

And here lies a very important spiritual key: God allows certain warnings to reach us, not to destroy us, but to awaken us.<\/strong> Sometimes, our conversion begins with an uncomfortable feeling: "I can't live like this anymore." The administrator feels this. He realizes that time is up. And then he does what many people don't do: he acts.<\/p>\n

2) The decisive moment: "What will I do?"\u201c<\/h3>\n

When he discovers he's going to lose his job, he doesn't fall into paralyzing despair. He thinks. He decides. He makes a plan. He looks to his own future and concludes: \u201cI don't have the strength to dig, I'm ashamed to beg. I need to find another way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here is the most educational point of the parable: He faces reality without fantasy.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
