\u201cWhen Jesus arrived in the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, \u201cWho do people say that the Son of Man is?\u201d
\nThey replied: \u201cSome say it is John the Baptist; others, Elijah; and, still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets\u201d.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

"And you? \u201c, he asked. "Who do you say I am? \u201d
\nSimon Peter replied, \u201cYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Jesus replied: \u201cHappy are you, Simon, son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father who is in heaven.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not be able to overcome it.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven; Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

From that moment Jesus began to explain to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the religious leaders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and be killed and rise again on the third day.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, \u201cNever, Lord! That will never happen to you! \u201c<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Jesus turned and said to Peter, \u201cGet behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, and you do not think about the things of God, but about the things of men<\/span><\/strong>\u201c<\/span><\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day<\/h2>\n

As Christians, we place a high value on God\u2019s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.<\/p>\n

Who do you say I am? When faith is right... and the heart stumbles.<\/h2>\n

Some passages in the Gospel seem like a simple conversation between Jesus and his disciples, but they conceal within them a kind of spiritual earthquake. That moment when everything becomes clear for an instant\u2026 and then we realize how fragile we still are, how we still mix faith with fear, love with control, revelation with pride.<\/p>\n

The Gospel of the Day places us precisely in that position. Jesus asks a question that transcends the centuries and reaches us directly: Who am I to you?<\/strong> He doesn't ask to gather information. He asks to reveal identity. And this question acts like a mirror: as we answer, we discover where our heart lies.<\/p>\n

The scene is powerful. Jesus listens to what people are saying about Him, then elaborates: \u201cAnd you?\u201d. A disciple responds with a luminous, almost perfect confession. But, moments later, the same disciple tries to prevent Jesus from fulfilling His mission, rejecting the path of the cross. And then Jesus corrects him with a harshness that is startling.<\/p>\n

It is a Gospel that teaches us two things at the same time:<\/p>\n

    True faith is born not only from intelligence, but from a revelation from God.,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Even those who have faith can stumble badly when they try to control God.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This passage reveals the human heart in its entirety. And that's why it's so relevant today.<\/p>\n

    \n

    1) Jesus' question: Why does He want us to speak?<\/h3>\n

    Jesus arrives in a specific region and begins by asking, \u201cWhat do people say about me?\u201d Notice: He is not eager for fame. He wants to reveal to the disciples that public opinion is unstable and insufficient.<\/p>\n

    People said "good" things: that Jesus was a prophet, someone important, someone great. But all of that was still not enough. Because it was admiration without surrender. It was respect without conversion. It was praise without commitment.<\/p>\n

    And here comes the crucial question:<\/p>\n

    \u201c"And you, who do you say I am?"\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

    This question is not for debate. It is for a decision.
    \nAnd it repeats itself in our lives in a thousand ways:<\/p>\n
