And he called him, and said unto him, What is this that I hear of thee? Give an account of your stewardship, because you can no longer be my steward.
And the butler said to himself:

What shall I do, since my lord takes away my stewardship? Dig, I can't; I'm ashamed of begging.

I know what I must do, so that, when I am dispossessed of the stewardship, they will welcome me into their homes.

And calling each of his master's debtors to him, he said to the first: How much do you owe my master? And he answered: A hundred measures of oil.

And he said unto him, Take up thy bond, and when thou hast sat down, write fifty. Then he said to another: And you, how much do you owe?

And he answered, One hundred bushels of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bond, and write eighty.

And the lord praised the unjust steward for having acted prudently, because the children of this world are more prudent in their generation than the children of light“.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
