“Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples;

And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and we have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, ‘You will be free’?”

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. Now the slave does not stay in the house forever; the Son stays forever.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
I know that you are Abraham's descendants, yet you seek to kill me, because my word has no place in you.

I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Our father is Abraham. Jesus said unto them,

If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

You do the works of your father. They said to him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, who is God.” Then Jesus said to them,

If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; I did not come of myself, but he sent me.
Why do you not understand my language?

Because you cannot hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you want to do.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

But because I tell you the truth, you do not believe me. Which of you convinces me of sin? And if I tell you the truth, why do you not believe?

Whoever is of God listens to the words of God; therefore you do not listen to them, because you are not of God.“.

John 8:31-47

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
