Jesus therefore knowing in himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, he said to them: Does this offend you?

What would it be if you saw the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? The spirit is what gives life, the flesh benefits nothing; the words that I speak to you are spirit and life.

But there are some of you who don't believe. For Jesus knew well, from the beginning, who those who did not believe were, and who was the one who would betray him.

And he said: Therefore I told you that no one can come to me unless it has been granted to him by my Father.

Since then, many of his disciples returned and no longer walked with him. Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away?

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words for the eternal life. And we have believed and known that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
