“While he was going up to Jerusalem, Jesus privately called the twelve disciples and said to them:

“We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and teachers of the law.
They will sentence you to death
and they will hand him over to the Gentiles so that they may mock him, flog him and crucify him.On the third day he will rise again! “
Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee and her sons approached Jesus and, falling down, made a request to him.
"What do you want? “, he asked.
She replied: “Declare that in your Kingdom these two sons of mine will sit, one on your right and the other on your left.”
Jesus said to them:

“You don't know what you're asking for. Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink? “We can,” they replied.
Jesus said to them:
“You will surely drink of my cup; but to sit at my right or at my left is not for me to grant.
These places belong to those for whom they were prepared by my Father.”When the other ten heard this, they were indignant at the two brothers.
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and important people exercise power over them. It won't be like that between you.
On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be a servant, and whoever wants to be first must be a slave;
like the Son of man, who came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day
As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
