“Then they said to him, Why do John's disciples fast often and pray, as do the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?

Adverts

And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the marriage fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

But the days will come when their husband will be taken away from them, and then, in those days, they will fast.

And he also told them a parable: No one throws a piece of new clothing to sew into an old one, for the new one will tear and the patch will not match the old one.

And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will break the wineskins, and the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined;

Adverts

But the new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both will be preserved together.

And no one, having drunk the old one, immediately wants the new one, because he says: The old one is better.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
