And when they returned, after those days were over, the child Jesus remained in Jerusalem, and neither Joseph nor his mother knew it.

However, thinking that he would come with him along the way, they walked for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances;

And when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem in search of him.
And it came to pass, after three days, that they found him in the temple, sitting among the doctors, listening to them, and questioning them.

And everyone who heard him admired his intelligence and answers.
And when they saw him, they were amazed, and his mother said to him:

Son, why did you do this to us? Behold, your father and I were eagerly looking for you.

And he said unto them, Why seek ye me? Do you not know that I must be about my Father's business? And they did not understand the words he spoke to them.

And he went down with them, and went to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And your mother kept all these things in her heart.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
