When someone invites you to a wedding, do not take the first place; lest someone more worthy than you be invited;
And when he who invited you and him comes, say to you: Give this man his place; and then, with shame, you have to take the last place.
But when you are invited, go and sit in the last place, so that when he who invited you comes, he will say to you: Friend, go up higher. Then you will have honor before those who are at the table with you.
For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. And he also said to the one who had invited him:

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day
As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
