Gospel of the Day – John 6:51-58

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Adverts

The Jews therefore disputed among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

Adverts

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me will also live because of me.

This is the bread that came down from heaven; This is not the case with your fathers, who ate the manna and died; whoever eats this bread will live forever.

John 6:51-58

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
