Just as you gave him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as you gave him.

E a vida eterna é esta: que te conheçam, a ti só, por único Deus verdadeiro, e a Jesus Cristo, a quem enviaste. Eu glorifiquei-te na terra, tendo consumado a obra que me deste a fazer.

And now you, O Father, glorify me with yourself, with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

Manifestei o teu nome aos homens que do mundo me deste; eram teus, e tu mos deste, e guardaram a tua palavra. Agora já têm conhecido que tudo quanto me deste provém de ti;

Because I gave them the words that you gave me; and they received them, and have truly known that I came from you, and have believed that you sent me.

I pray for them; I do not pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me, because they are yours.
And all my things are yours, and your things are mine; and in them I am glorified.

And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep in your name those whom you have given me, that they may be one, just as we are.

The Importance of the Gospel of the Day

As Christians, we place a high value on God’s Word. It is through belief in the Word of God that we are saved (Rm 10:17). The Word of God then becomes our guide for life in all circumstances, whether in employment, in social life or even in the family circle. Our aspiration should be to live by the Word of God.
